Fun Doubles Tournament

A fun tournament, not to be missed, is the Doubles Surprise Daytime Tournament which will be played on Sunday morning, 14 June, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Players are eligible to enter if they have a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile (linked to Universal Tennis Ratings) and, if a junior, are 13 years of age or older in 2026 (i.e. born 2013 or earlier).

Member Discount:  The entry fee is $25 for UQ Tennis Club members or $35 for non-members. Players who are not members of the UQ Tennis Club must pay the Non-Member Extra Entry Fee of $10 (listed under Extra Items) in addition to the listed Event Entry Fee of $25.

The entry deadline is Sunday, 7 June.

Although this is a Doubles tournament, players enter as individuals

Players (all standards, male or female) will be paired initially through a public draw and allocated to numbered courts for the first match.  After each match, the winners move up a court and the losers move down a court.  Players then switch partners for the next match.  Gradually, during the morning, the better players will move towards the No. 1 court.

Following the end of play at around noon, there will be snacks on the clubhouse verandah, prizes for the best performed players on the day, and some lucky prize draws.

Entries must be lodged on-line via the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website here.

For more information, go to the tournament INFO SHEET.

The backup date for this tournament, in the event of wet weather, is Sunday morning, 21 June.

N.B. When players go to enter on-line, they are asked to create a Tournament account if they don't already have one.  To create a Tournament account, players will need their 11-digit Tennis Australia Tennis ID (11-digit number starting with '66').  Players can check if they have already a Tennis ID & Competitive Player Profile or they can create a Competitive Player Profile & Tennis ID & UTR link by going to https://www.tennis.com.au/compete/join-competitions/set-up-competitive-player-profile#get-started.
